Some availability of a sliding fee scale in certain circumstances.

Currently licensed in Washington State. I accept most major insurance. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. I gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, cash, and personal checks. If appointment cancellation is necessary, please provide 24 hours notice or a 50% charge will be incurred for your missed appointment.

Confidentiality is strictly enforced to protect the client's privacy. According to law and professional ethics, exceptions to confidentiality exist if there is a clear and present danger that someone's life may be at risk or if there is suspected child abuse or neglect or abuse of any vulnerable population. I am a mandatory reporter by law. You may also want to consider that if insurance is used to pay for your session, they will have access to a certain amount of this information. Although it may sometimes be financially necessary to use insurance to pay for therapy, please realize that all insurance claims require a medical diagnosis, which will become part of your record. Also, the insurance company may decide how many sessions are appropriate for your treatment, regardless of what you and I might think is needed. 

And finally, your private information, even under new privacy policies, may need to be shared for insurance reimbursement.

If I currently do not participate in your specific insurance plan, I welcome you to discuss my sliding scale of fees. Many insurance companies have "Out-of-Network" benefits, and after a deductible is met, sessions are often covered at 50 or even 80 percent. This is specific to each plan, and it is important for you to know.
